A Winter Sunrise
Blueberry, raspberry, vanilla and
melon
were ushers on this frigid morning;
Introducing the burst of a clementine sun
to the sky that showed winter's sting.
A time of beauty on the morning
canvas
was, today, best-viewed from indoors;
The naked trees appeared warmer than we
as extremities tingled to the core.
A look through the frost-patterned
window pane
showed the sun had paled to white;
But its strength was there and it ruled winter's morning
with its glorious and brilliant light.
