Our Country’s Birthday

The Canadian flag blows freely
from the buildings, large and small;
Our maple leaf of red on white
is in the hearts of all.

Canada Day we celebrate
on July the first, each year;
The day is very special,
for to us our land is dear.

God gave us mighty mountains,
and lakes so pure and blue;
The forests green and bounteous plains -
He gave them to us, too.

All the many blessings
that we call Canada;
Our country is a gift from God
so we cherish our Canada.

If each Canadian tends the spot
that God loaned us, to live;
Keep it free and clean - the way
He’d hoped when He did give.

Then Canada is richer, truer -
touched by an angel’s wing -
And that is why on Canada Day
we proudly stand and sing.
OH CANADA !
