In my garden

There is something I find in my garden -

I always know it is there;

Whether digging, weeding or planting -

it surrounds me like a prayer.

I feel privileged to have a spot

where I can linger long;

Enjoy fresh air and listen to the

goldfinch with his song.

Creating a little beauty gives

a sense of worth -

Giving a little tender care

to mother earth.

The years cut down on what I do -

right now I will not cease -

For in my little garden

I find precious inner peace.
